All Caboose Train Ride
Sat Sep 2

11:00 am Departure.

We will pull grab all of the cabooses that are privately-owned (as each owner allows at least) and operate our annual all-caboose. Usually we have about five cabooses in the train. The train operates to East Logan and return with photo run-bys (where everyone has the opportunity to de-train and photograph the train passing by before re-boarding) along the way.

Seating is incredibly limited (each caboose holds no more than ten people; some are fewer than that), so be sure to reserve your seat as soon as possible. A great trip for any railfan.

Duration of ride: Approximately three hours.

Cost: $25 per person

Santa Train
Nov 25 (Sat)
thru
Dec 17 (Sun)

11:00 am Departure.

2:00 pm Departure.

6:00 pm Departure on Saturday Dec 2nd and Dec 9th Only.

Our longest-running annual event, the Santa Train has been a long-standing family tradition for over three decades.

These ever-popular trains begin Saturday, November 25th and continue each Saturday and Sunday through Sunday, December 17th. Two trains depart the Nelsonville Depot round-trip to East Logan each Saturday and Sunday during that time at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. We will also have an evening departure time of 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd and 9th.

Each train features the same theme–Santa gets on board the train and visits with each child as the train traverses the historic (and with any luck, snow-covered) Hocking River Valley. Each coach is decorated, heated, Christmas music plays throughout the train over the audio system, and after Santas visit, each child receives a special candy cane treat. Make sure your child or grandchild brings his or her list to share with Santa. These are incredibly popular and do tend to sell out, so order as early as possible to secure your seat.

Duration of ride: Approximately two hours

Cost: $17/adult, $15/sen, $13/child
